The Allmeet fair was an intercommunity event organized and managed by Brother Huberty of the Ordo Cuius. It was held on the Mage Tower grounds in Moonglow on the Baja Shard on Sunday, July 11th, 1999.
An open invitation was distributed throughout the Shard, encouraging all to come and either sponsor, or merely enjoy, the various activities. Everyone and anyone was welcome, so long as they did not attack anyone, nor take things which were not theirs. Over 300 people were reported to attend, many of whom actively participated in the day's events, and disruptions were minimal.
The Allmeet consisted of seminars for “newbies” or veterans, contests of fishing and barding, and even tournaments for mages or warriors. Many visitors received commemorative gift packs, which included a gift-book made especially for the occasion.
Guilds who played a big part in hosting events included:
Lumaria The Mage Tower The Golden Brew Ordo Cuius United Blacksmiths of Britannia Avalon Kingdom of Dawn
On a related, happy footnote, soon after the Allmeet the Baja Mage Tower was Blessed with Game Master/Seer building enhancements along with it's new Boathouse!
Below are three links to help us remember the thoroughly enjoyable and highly successful Allmeet.

Announcment #3 Allmeet fair results Baja’s Allmeet fair was an intercommunity event where anyone on the Baja Shard could come and either sponsor or merely enjoy various activities. Everyone and anyone was welcome, so long as they did not attack anyone, nor take things which were not theirs. The Allmeet consisted of seminars for “newbies” or veterans, contests of fishing and barding, and even tournaments for mages or warriors. Over 300 people attended, including Counselors and Seers, and many visitors received commemorative gift packs, which included a gift-book made especially for the occasion. There was an unusual attack, to say the least, just prior to the fair’s Pure Magery Tournament. A talking dragon, talking demon, and talking gazer appeared! They demanded that the Mage Tower be emptied, the toughest mages be called forth to be smited by this terrible trio. The battle against these villains was long, and many lives were lost, but in the end they were vanquished. Unfortunately, due to the attack of the talking monsters and time concerns, some seminars had to be “cut” and the Contest of Champions rescheduled. The CoC’s rescheduled day, time, & location is: Monday, July 11th, at 6pm Pacific time, at the Avalon Events Tower (a map of Avalon can be found at http://avalon.crpgtavern.com). Please show up as early as 1 hour prior to register for the melee tournament. The Allmeet was hosted by Baja's long-respected Mage Tower, located in the southwest corner of Moonglow. Appropriately, the Allmeet’s theme was the mystic arts, and some highlights of the event included: * A traditional Lumarian fishing & cooking contest, wherein Darksun edged out Jorus in the fishing contest, with a total of 122 points, taking home a large dragon ship. * A Lumarian bardic "enticement" contest, wherein Germyn Hightone (of LUM) successfully enticed Kvarno Goldeneye to win 20,000 gp. * A play, “Rumpelstiltzkin,” performed by the Golden Brew players * The Mage Tower's own spectacular "pure magery" tournament — Jesus H Christ took the 1st place prize of 100,000 pieces; 2nd Place, and 50,000 gold, was won by Valid; and Obelix won 3rd place and 25,000 gold * A seminar on Blacksmithing by Morgan le Fey of the United Blacksmiths of Britannia * A seminar on Magery by the Mage Tower’s own Atrius More information on the Allmeet, as well as pictures, may be found at the Ordo Cuius skypage at come.to/ordocuius. The Ordo Cuius and the entire Allmeet staff wish to congratulate all the contest winners, and thank all the participants and those who helped to make the Allmeet the success that it was.

Announcment #4 Allmeet fair supplementary Baja’s intercommunity Allmeet fair, on Sunday, July 11th, ran longer than expected. Two seminars had to be cancelled, but the section which held Avalon’s Contest of Champions was postponed until the following day, July 12th, 1999. As reported by Jixxa, one of the administrators of the activity: “Despite the confusion that I only added to, it was a grand night. The winner of the 10K and a spear of power was Satyr...Coming in second was DeeLo—who donated his 5K to the Mage Tower—and third was Avalon's own Claude—who donated his 3K to Avalon's next CoC...” The Allmeet was hosted by Baja's long-respected Mage Tower, located in the southwest corner of Moonglow. More information (and more pictures) on the Allmeet may be found at come.to/ordocuius/.

Schedule of Events:
3:00
Fishing Contest Sponsored by Lumaria
Participants will stack together on a large dragonship docked just outside the Mage Tower, they will all be given a key to this ship and each participant will thus have the power to navigate the ship as he likes. There will also be a controller (referee) on the ship that checks that everything is done right. (No fighting, magic already stacked fish etc.) any form of cheating would result in disqualification.
The ship will be out to sea for a period of 20 minutes. The controller will be timing and when the time is up, he will bring the ship back to shore without intervention from participants, attempts to fish on the way back will be seen as cheating. Once shore is reached or prior to this the controller will count the fish and give score. Score will be given out the following way.
* Normal fish (not blue)= 1 point * Magic fish (any color)=3 points * Normal fish blue color)=5 points * Footwear (boots, sandals etc.)=(-3) points
The participant gathering the most amount of points will be the winner and will be given the master key to the boat used in the contest and he may consider it his own from there on. 3:30
Cooking Contest Sponsored by Lumaria
The fish from the fishing contest will be stacked in a large amount of piles of four uncooked fishsteaks, so that each participant will have 10 piles of fishes with four stakes in each. Everyone is then to make a fire and cook the piles one at a time over it, the winner will be the one who burns the least stakes. If it comes to a draw the prize can be split. The winner(s) of the contest will be winning an oven, a mill and a water trough. 4:00
Barding Contest Sponsored by Lumaria
Magically enticing Music contest: A course will be set out nearby the Mage Tower, the starting line will likely be very near the entrance. Rabbits will be gathered for all who wish to partake, the idea will be to as quickly as possible make the rabbit go the entire course only with an instrument to help you.
Making the rabbit angry (provoking it or attacking it) using a shepherd’s crook (herding) or getting too friendly with the rabbits (taming) will be strictly forbidden. Enticement will simply be the only skill that is allowed in the contest.
The person who can lead his/her rabbit the quickest through the course will win a prize of 20,000 gold. 4:30
Magery Seminar Sponsored by the Mage Tower
Taught by Atrius, of the Mage Tower. Atrius gives new and veteran players alike a treatise on basic spellcasting. 5:00
Play Sponsored by the Golden Brew
A play scene directed by award winning acquaintance of Lord British himself, Kita Talith.
The Golden Brew Players present "Rumpelstiltzkin," a skit immortalizing the classic fairy tale. The Boastful Tailor (Kita Talith) places her daughter, the Lovely Maiden (Ursula) in a difficult position by boasting to the Evil but Illustrious Lord (Thorin Ironbeard) that she can spin straw into gold. Enter Rumpelstiltzkin, (Kendrik the Leprechaun a.k.a. Joshua Rowan), who can save the day... but is the price he asks too much for the Lovely Maiden to pay? 5:30
Knighting Ceremony Sponsored by the the Kingdom of Dawn
King Desmond of Dawn will dub several squires of Dawn's Order of the Blue Rose (formerly known as the Guardians of Virtue) on Sunday, July 11th, at the Moonglow Mage Tower. Lord HellRazor, Grand Magistry of the Order, patterned the ceremony after those performed in the middle ages of his home realm of Earth. Although the ceremony is edited so as to not make it overly long, it is mostly authentic. Among the squires scheduled for knighting are: Sir Honda, Sir Hikaru, Sir Casey Rybeck, Sir Cavefish, and Sir Gunter. Following the ceremony, fellow knights are encouraged to bestow gifts upon the newly knighted squires to help them begin their careers of nobility and chivalry. 6:00
Blacksmithing Seminar Sponsored by the United Blacksmiths of Britannia
Taught by Morgan le Fey, Baja's Shardmaster for the United Blacksmiths of Britannia. 6:30
Pure Magery Tournament
This will be a single-elimination, 1-on-1 competition of pure magical skill.
Each contestant will enter their own private ring, with a small 3x3 area to walk around in. When the round begins, each contestant will attempt to kill the other using only magical spells, without any help from other skills.
Entering this tournament is free, although you must pre-register with Atrius before the tournament by signing your name in a book. Entries are limited to the first 20 people who sign up, and sign-ups begin at the start of the Baja Allmeet Faire, at 3:00pm pacific time, at the Mage Tower.
In keeping with the "magery only" theme, neither potions of ANY kind, nor items of spell reflection will be allowed. Because the rooftop of the Mage Tower will most likely be very crowded, no field spells will be allowed due to the risk of collateral damage. Nor will energy vortexes or blade spirits. Chain lightning and meteor swarm will also be disallowed, due to the risk of those highly unpredictable spells.
The only skills one should need to participate in this tournament should be magery, magic resistance, evaluating intelligence, and meditation. No other skills should have any effect on the outcome.
We at the Mage Tower would like to thank our many supporters, who turned out in droves to donate prize money for the tournament. Primarily among them, Paco (donated 100,000 gold,) Lord Sir Rolo of Nore Taure (donated 50,000 gold,) Nikto (donated 50,000 gold,) Jacob Tyrer (donated magical staves of force/power,) and the hundreds of Hythloth daemons who also generously donated to the purse.
Prizes are as follows:
* 1st Place: 100,000 gold, plus two quarterstaves of power/force * 2nd Place: 50,000 gold * 3rd Place: 25,000 gold
The donations got almost ridiculous at once point, (we eventually had 380,000 gold and a placed house donated to us,) so we decided to split our total prize and hold two separate magery tournaments. The next will take place within the next few weeks, so if you don't win this one, there's still hope! 7:00
Alchemy Seminar Sponsored by the Mage Tower
Taught by Rich, of the Mage Tower. Rich grants both new and veteran insight into the wonderful world of delightful & dangerous chemicals. 7:30
Magical Item Seminar Sponsored by Avalon
Riena Faire, Avalon’s Minister of Events, teaches a small presentation on the nature of magic items. She will talk briefly on the nature of charged items, the scale of 'goodness' for weapons and armor enchantments, and even give away some minor magic items and ID wands (as supplies last) to “newbies.” 8:00
Avalon’s Contest of Champions Sponsored by Avalon
Avalon’s Minister of Defense, BlackWolf, presents an abbreviated Contest of Champions that shall concentrate on a melee-only contest. The rules are as follows:
1. No potions during or before fights. 2. No wands allowed. 3. No stealing, hiding, or poisoned weapons allowed. 4. No looting. 5. No healing by any method allowed. 6. No casting of magic allowed during of before fights). 7. Fights are to the death.
The referee has final say in all decisions regarding disputed fights. Prizes will be awarded to the winners. Signup begins at 7pm PDT in the Mage Tower and will last approximately 55 minutes. Feel free to come and watch if you don't wish to enter the Contests. 8:30

Though this is in the very, very early stages still.....we're looking at bringing this famous "Allmeet" festival back for another round later this year for the 10th anniversary of UO.
Hopefully within the next few months or so we can start to get things planned out, and have something to work with as the future date draws closer.
This will be a multi-guild hosted event open to the whole shard just like the original one.
Check back later for more info. as it developes.
