What: Baja's 1st Shard Wide Mage Tournament - Hosted by UG.K!
When: We will meet on November 10th, 2006 @ 10:00pm Central Standard Time but the tournament will actually start around 10:15pm Central Standard Time. If you are late for your match you automatically forfeit!
Where: Gates will be provided in Luna to the newly redesigned Fel Arena starting around 9:45pm Central Standard Time!
Why: Well it is time that all the trash talking going on finally gets backed up! This is a chance for all of you out there to prove what guild has the best Mage PvP'ers on Baja! Oh and I suppose the winner gets like $$$5 Million Gold $$$[/i], the glory of being Baja's Mage Tournament Champion, a goody bag and the tournament trophy will be set in your honor until the next tournament.
Also after each tournament we write a record of the event into a book and keep this record in the tournament museum for as long as UO lets us keep it, for everyone to read.
Second place will win a check for $$$1,000,000 Gold $$$[/i]!
Third place will win a check for $$$500,000 Gold $$$[/i]!
Fourth place will win a check for $$$100,000 Gold $$$[/i]!
Fifth place will win a check for $$$50,000 Gold $$$[/i]!
If you are not interested in competing in the tournament you are still welcome to come, enjoy the festivities and cheer on your favorite Mage. The arena has plenty of seats and alcohol/food will of course be available! :partyman: :drinkers: :smt030 :smt078
What you will need: This will be a free tournament, there will be no entry fee! You will want to bring your best Armor and all the skill you can muster!
This is a Mage Tournament so you will be fighting against other Mages in an arena! (1 vs 1). People will die, but there will be no looting and a res will obviously be provided. Please make sure everything you are wearing is insured to be on the safe side and have at least 100,000+ gold in the bank so you don't run out!
Other Info: Each member will be squared off against other members randomly. The tournament will last as long as it takes to end up with one final winner! Each match will be the best 2 out of 3 and pets/summons are not allowed.
Registration: There will be a book sitting on a table on the 4th floor of the arena near a person taking registrations. Everyone who plans to fight MUST and I repeat MUST register their name with the person taking registrations to fight. If your name is not in the tournament book when Wraith begins the Tournament then your name will not be placed in the line up. The book will be up about an hour before the tournament begins giving everyone plenty of time to sign up.
Rules
1. To make this simple I am going to list all the skills and let you know which ones are banned and which ones are not! I understand that a number of these skills don't need to be banned for any reason, but this will just make it easier in identifing what skills are usable in the tournament.

Everyone is welcome to join in the tournament, but if you do not follow the skill rules above you will not be allowed to fight. If you are caught using a skill banned above you will forefit your match! Soul Stones, Soul Stone Fragments are plentiful enough that everyone can move their extra skills around to match the required skills. If you cannot take off the skills banned above you may still compete providing you do not use them in battle. This will of course mean you are at a disadvantage though spending skill points toward a skill that is unusable.
2. You may equip a weapon, BUT only the following, Magery Spell Books or a Bookstick! These weapons may NOT be used for attacking your opponent! This is a magery tournament, physical attacks will NOT BE ALLOWED! If you hit your opponent with a weapon you will forefit the round!
3. No attacking people not participating in the tournament and that includes me! You may spar with other people outside providing they agree before you start sparring outside! Sparring inside the house while the tournament is going on will result in you getting banned from the house. It only causes confusion if a ton of people are fighting all over the place.
4. No pets or summons (this includes anything off of talismans!) This is a Mage vs. Mage tournament, not a Mage + summon vs. Mage + pet.
5. No using illegal programs or cheats!!
6. No stealing items off of a person's dead/alive body or attacking them before you are told to begin. This will result in being banned!
7. All Potions are banned from the tournament, don’t bother bringing them with you!
8. Obviously all items that do damage are banned, including Jack O Lanterns, Wands, etc.
9. Only Magery will be allowed in this Tournament, no other spell casting skills will be allowed (i.e. Necromancy, Spellweaving)! In the future maybe we will add in Necromancy and Spellweaving but this tournament we will not allow them!
10. BUSHIDO IS BANNED! Don’t even ask, this is not a Gimp Tournament, so get your Evasion the hell out of here! Chiv is also obviously banned!
11. Precasting will not be allowed, this includes Bless, attack spells, curses, transformations, or any other spell that can be cast in advance, that would benefit you. Protection, Magic Reflection and Reactive Armor though will be allowed since they are infinite spells that give major negatives for the benefits you receive with using them and cannot be detected. After the match begins you are welcome to transform into anything you want at your own peril.
12. Rounds are timed, once a round hits 10 minutes the match will go into SUDDEN DEATH! At this point Wraith will enter the arena and start throwing Greater Explosion potions at both parties. Wraith is NOT to be attacked and the last person standing ends up being the winner!
13. NO KILLING OTHER PEOPLE IN THE STANDS! Last time we held a Jousting Tournament someone attacked a person fighting in the Tournament! If you attack someone you are going to get banned from the Arena! This ban WILL NOT BE LIFTED! Also if you start attacking people when the Tournament ends you will again be banned from the Arena and future Tournaments of any kind that we hold. (i.e. you break rules at the Mage Tournament, you are banned from The Jousting Tournament, PvP Tournament, Tamer Tournament, etc.)
14. The Armor is up to each person entering in the tournament, wear whatever you want there will be no restrictions!
15. Purple Petals are banned but Orange Petals are ok!
16. When inside the arena..
..you may at random be searched for illegal items. If you are caught with items that are against the rules you will be required to hand them over to Wraith until your match is over. If you are snooped outside of the arena, you will want to let a UG.K member know so we can ban someone from the arena.
17. Keep in mind that this being our first time running this Tournament there will be mistakes in the rules! Rules are subject to change at anytime before the Tournament begins! If we find what we consider a loop hole in the rules I will modify the rules to attempt to fix this hole. Please be patient, every Tournament the rules will be slightly modified to attempt to balance out the fighting. Consider this our first run and expect there to be mistakes
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me and also feel free to post any suggestions in here. Thanks and I hope to see everyone there!
